G.M. Collin is a French company that was founded in 1957. It makes and sells organic skin care products and specializes in products that enhance collagen, including collagen facials. This facial treatment is a soothing, non-invasive solution to treating lines and wrinkles.
What is collagen?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. It can be found in the skin, bones, muscles, and tendons. Its job is to hold everything together, replace dead skin cells, and give living skin its elasticity and strength. The human body produces collagen until around age 40. After that, collagen production begins to decline, and collagen levels are greatly diminished by the age of 60.
What is Collagen 90-II?
Collagen 90-II is a sheet of collagen infused with a variety of selected ingredients and is used as a facial mask. It fights the aging process by hydrating the skin and smoothing wrinkles. It can be used with all skin types and is only available at select skin care centers, including Mac Med Spa.
What happens during a collagen facial?
A collagen facial uses the protein in a beauty treatment to revitalize the skin, slowing down the aging process by replenishing the skin’s supply of collagen.
Our team at Mac Med Spa will begin the treatment by thoroughly cleaning and exfoliating the skin. During the process, the skin is rubbed with various facial scrubs or a chemical scrub in order to remove dead skin cells. Exfoliating the skin prevents acne by keeping pores unclogged and eliminating skin debris.
After that, a concentrated collagen cream will be applied, and the face will be massaged. The facial mask is left on for about 30 minutes, which allows the skin to absorb the collagen. The mask is then gently removed with a moist cloth. The face is then cleansed with warm water.
Are there any risks?
Some people have allergic reactions to collagen, so it is advised to have a skin patch test done before receiving a collagen facial. G.M. Collin prides itself on their use of organic ingredients, which means many of their products are likely to contain plant oils. Since many people have allergies to plant oils, be sure to have your skin tested for this during the patch test. Other, milder side effects include reddening, itching, bruising, and peeling.
