How to Prepare for a BOTOX Appointment

BOTOX®

Everyone’s heard of BOTOX® and knows how it can change the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Modern advancements have made it a common and practical treatment for almost anyone to use to banish creases in the skin. Typically, people getting this treatment just make an appointment with a local clinic and go in to get it done, but there are certain steps you can take to make your experience even easier. If you’re interested in getting a BOTOX® treatment, below is some more information on how easy it is to prepare for a treatment.
Enjoy Some Spinach
It may surprise you, but one of the best things you can do before a BOTOX® treatment is enjoy as much spinach as you want. Spinach is rich in Vitamin K, which reduces the formation of ecchymosis and keeps post-treatment bruising to a minimum. Clients who get BOTOX® normally don’t have much bruising, but your odds of post-treatment bruising can be decreased by eating foods like spinach in creamy sauces or tasty salads.
Stick with Tylenol
You can minimize the possibility of getting a small bruise at your injection site by not taking any medication that thins the blood in the week leading up to your treatment. Talk with your doctor if you take specific daily medications that may thin your blood, but if you don’t, you just have to stick with Tylenol for any of your needs. Tylenol is a painkiller that won’t thin your blood, so you can keep any BOTOX® injection site safe from even the most minimal bruise.
Take a Before Photo
When people go in for a haircut or makeover, the stylist typically takes before and after photos to compare and see the results better. It’s fun to do and even post on social media. You can do the same thing to celebrate your BOTOX® treatment by taking a before photo on the morning of your treatment. After your recovery period is over, you can compare it to an after photo. You’ll love being able to see the difference a quick and easy BOTOX® treatment can make to your look.
