Minimize the Appearance of Broken Blood Vessels with the Green Spectrum Laser

If you suffer from redness in your face, there is a good chance that broken blood vessels are to blame. This condition is most often caused by exposure to the sun over time. Unfortunately, many of us don’t find out until later in life how important it is to protect the skin with daily sunscreen application. While you can’t turn back time, you can take advantage of a cosmetic procedure that can help you bring your redness under control: the green spectrum laser.

How Does the Green Spectrum Laser Work?

The green spectrum laser harnesses the green spectrum of light, a spectrum that is particularly good at correcting redness caused by broken capillaries in the face. In addition to choosing the proper spectrum, your doctor will focus on how intense the light should be, how long the pulses of light should be focused on your skin, and the size of the area that will be affected. As the green spectrum laser light is focused on your skin, it calms your skin and breaks up the blood that has accumulated due to broken capillaries. Any swelling and inflammation are reduced as well, effectively eliminating the redness that has appeared in the face.

What can I Expect During a Green Spectrum Laser Treatment?

Green spectrum laser therapy is an outpatient procedure. Before treatment begins, a member of our medical staff will make sure that your skin has been thoroughly cleaned. A numbing lotion will be applied to the treatment area to reduce any discomfort during your treatment. Your eyes will be covered for your protection. At this point, the green spectrum laser will be directed at the areas of your face affected by broken capillaries. At medical professional will carefully monitor the length and intensity of each pulse to bring you optimal results.

When your treatment is over, your treatment provider may apply a cooling gel or protective ointment to your skin to ease any pain that you may be experiencing. You will need to be sure to use sunblock after your treatment to protect your skin. You should continue to apply sunscreen on a daily basis to avoid bouts of redness in the future.

You don’t have to live with the redness that is bringing you down. Contact Mac Med Spa today to discuss the green spectrum laser and how this treatment could have a positive impact on your appearance. Our practice is proud to provide this treatment to patients in the Milford area of Massachusetts.
