Depending on your beauty goals, you may want to use a combination of treatments to achieve the look that you desire. There are many non-surgical procedures that can provide significant improvement to the appearance of your skin, but even though they are safe and comfortable on their own, we may or may not recommend them as a combination therapy. Today, we are taking a closer look at BOTOX® injections and how the treatment pairs with microdermabrasion.
The Benefits of Microdermabrasion and BOTOX®
Microdermabrasion is a surface-level treatment that can make rough skin feel baby smooth and significantly softer. It has long-term benefits as it encourages the growth of newer, fresher layers of skin cells. BOTOX®, on the other hand, is intended to address deeper underlying issues that can contribute to an aged appearance. It can change contours on the face and fill in wrinkles that have been forming for decades.
Working together, they each complement the other treatment to result in significantly younger-looking skin. While they are both effective non-surgical methods of making skin more visibly beautiful and youthful in appearance, the two treatments have distinct benefits which may complement one another nicely.
Getting Microdermabrasion Before or After BOTOX®
While you may be a little nervous about getting an injection after a microdermabrasion treatment, this is the preferred method of treatment in many cases. It’s typically recommended that if the therapies are to be used in conjunction, the microdermabrasion session should come first. There are several potential complications that may result from receiving microdermabrasion therapy too quickly after a BOTOX® treatment.
