What is a Mystic Tanning Session?
Mystic Tanning is a type of sunless tanning. This means that you get a tan without having to damage your skin by sitting out in the sun or in a tanning bed. The tan is applied via a spray mister machine. DHA is the active ingredient in all sunless tanning solutions. The DHA in the solution interacts with your skin to create a beautiful golden brown bronze. You will notice that the color reaches a peak after 24 hours.
Will a Mystic Tanning Session make the skin turn orange?
People worry that their skin will turn orange if they get a spray tan, but this will not happen. When people who use liquid or cream tanners get orange splotches on their skin, this is because they are using their hands to apply the tanner. Mystic tanning applies the tanning serum with the machine, so you get even coverage. Uneven coverage that often happens with lotions applied by hand will cause those unsightly orange spots. What should people do to prepare for a Mystic Tanning session?
It is important to do a few things before attending your Mystic Tan session. First, you should exfoliate your skin. You can exfoliate your skin with a washcloth or a loofah sponge. You can also use a shower cream with micro beads. Exfoliating will get all of the oil, sweat and dead skin cells off of your skin so that the tanning spray will adhere better.
You also want to shave your legs and any other part of your body where the Mystic Tan will be applied. That way, you won’t get any small lines on your skin where the Mystic Tanning spray only covered your leg hairs.
Finally, make sure that you do not apply any lotions, sprays or deodorants before you attend your appointment. The Mystic Tanning spray will have trouble adhering to your skin over these products. Wear clothing that you don’t care about getting stains on to your appointment. It is unlikely that they will be stained, but you want to be sure. The tanning spray takes only a few minutes to dry on the skin completely.
