What It Is
The Kontur Body Wrap procedure involves using heat to destroy fatty tissue within the body. This type of fat reduction procedure focuses on fat cells through ultrasound waves, and they can reach cells up to 1.5 centimeters beneath the skin. It uses infrared heat that also presents the benefits of improved circulation, enhanced immune response and better cardiovascular health.
Compared to other treatments relying on heat, infrared penetrates twice as deeply to target toxins and cellulite trapped beneath the skin. It is an ideal procedure for fatty deposits on hips, thighs and the stomach, or anywhere residual fat collects.
The Procedure
The Kontur Body Wrap uses silicone pads to target affected areas. The non-allergenic pads create infrared heat that penetrates deeply into the body. The treatment heats deep-muscle tissue and imitates the natural energy response produced by the body to create a similar metabolic response. In this process, the body’s fat and toxins are released and subsequently eliminated from the body. This creates reduction of fatty tissue, water weight and toxin buildup.
Each session of Kontur lasts for about an hour and can be received once each week, and the body can be contoured in three to nine sessions per area of fatty tissue. This allows for an improvement in overall figure in just three to six weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
How complex is the procedure?
This form of fat reduction, unlike liposuction, is completely non-invasive. It requires no lacerations, stitches, injections or anesthesia. It usually causes no pain, burns or scars, and patients can get back to their daily lives as soon as treatment is done.
How long does the treatment last?
A standard session should be completed within only one hour. The first half of the process involves the patient receiving impulses to the target area, and the second half consists of ultrasound massaging for drainage.
Where does the fat go?
The liquefied fat is released and naturally drained to the liver via lymphatic circulation, and the liver metabolizes it for energy.
Side Effects
Though the procedure is non-invasive, it carries risks just like any medical procedure. The more common effects include reddening of the treatment area and sensitivity to touch. Some patients may develop blisters from the pads’ contact with the skin. In some cases, pocket of fluid known as seromas can develop and may need to be drained.
Patients that receive the Kontur Body Wrap should have realistic expectations. The best way to keep body fat in order is to implement a plan of regular exercise with clean eating. Patients should also check to make sure they meet skin and body criteria before considering.
